Job SummaryThe Senior Software Engineer on the Data & Analytics team will design, build, and support full-stack applications; integrate AI technologies into existing and new applications to deliver high-impact business solutions; and champion AI tooling and the AI SDLC using spec-based development and harness engineering. This role will also collaborate closely with developers and IT Product Management to align deliverables, oversee CI/CD pipeline deployments, and provide essential production support to maintain system reliability.
We are seeking a dynamic Sr. IT Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of our next-generation scalable services. Leveraging Python, Django, FastAPI, React, and GraphQL within Google Cloud Platform, you will evolve our core architecture and drive our transition into AI-native engineering. As a technical engineer, you will ensure our systems-including traditional microservices and emerging agentic workflows-are resilient, scalable, and innovative.
Qualifications Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support full-stack applications across the front end, back end, and data layers.
- Apply AI-SDLC methodology throughout the development lifecycle, leveraging AI-assisted coding, testing, and review tools to improve engineering velocity and quality.
- Design and build agentic workflows end-to-end, including agent orchestration, tool integration, evaluation, and production monitoring using the Vertex AI Agent SDK (or alternative frameworks such as LangChain / LangGraph) and A2A protocols to enable seamless interoperability among autonomous enterprise services.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Own the full feature lifecycle, including architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing production support.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure high availability and application performance.
- Take ultimate accountability for cross-team project outcomes, ensuring AI and software solutions meet rigorous enterprise-grade standards for security, quality, and performance.
- Contribute to engineering best practices, documentation, and continuous improvement of development processes.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Professional backend development experience with Python, using frameworks like Django or FastAPI to design and build fault-tolerant microservice architectures.
- Professional experience deploying, maintaining, and optimizing Generative AI or LLM-powered applications in production.
- Hands-on experience with LLM orchestration and agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, or native cloud Agent SDKs).
- Strong technical understanding and hands-on experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, including vector embeddings, semantic search, and working with vector databases.
- Demonstrated experience implementing LLM guardrails, prompt engineering best practices, and prompt injection defenses.
- Demonstrated expertise in frontend development with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
- Strong proficiency in containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes (GKE).
- Proven track record of delivering complex software solutions from concept to production.
- Strong proficiency in one or more databases (e.g., BigQuery, MongoDB, Postgres, etc.).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and modern CI/CD practices.
- Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, system design, and testing.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Qualifications- Proven track record of architecting, deploying, and scaling production-grade Generative AI and LLM-powered applications.
- Experience implementing robust AI evaluation (Evals) workflows, selecting metrics, and building automated testing methodologies for generative AI applications.
- Deep, hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly Google Vertex AI (including Vertex AI Evaluation services).
- Production-level knowledge of Agent SDK, LangChain, or LangGraph frameworks, as well as A2A protocols and the implementation of MCP servers.
- Experience using Agentic IDEs (e.g., Cursor, Windsurf) in a professional development environment.
