RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Chicago, IL that is seeking a technically strong Business Analytics Engineer/Data Engineer to come aboard a contract to hire opportunity with one of our clients, to build and maintain scalable data pipelines, develop data models, and support stakeholder-facing analytics and dashboard solutions across strategic client accounts. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Databricks or Microsoft Fabric, strong ETL development skills, and the ability to transform data from multiple sources into organized, accessible datasets that support business intelligence, reporting, and decision-making.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Approximately 3-4+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, business intelligence, or a closely related field
* Hands-on experience with Databricks or Microsoft Fabric is required. Candidates with strong Microsoft Fabric experience will be considered even without extensive Databricks experience
* Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting ETL/ELT pipelines
* Strong understanding of data transformation, data integration, and data modeling
* Experience preparing data for dashboards, reporting, visualization, and stakeholder consumption
* Working knowledge of SQL and related data querying techniques
* Understanding of data quality, validation, governance, and data management best practices
* Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and translating requirements into technical deliverables
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred:
* Experience with both Databricks and Microsoft Fabric
* Familiarity with Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, or similar modern data platform technologies
* Experience with Python or other programming languages used for data engineering and automation
* Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar dashboard and visualization platforms
* Experience with dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and enterprise reporting
* Experience with data governance frameworks and enterprise data management
* Esri/ArcGIS mapping, geospatial analytics, or location intelligence experience
* Previous experience supporting enterprise clients, consulting engagements, or client-facing analytics initiatives
* Experience working with AI-enabled tools or emerging analytics technologies
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
