IT Technician

Job Summary

The IT Technician provides first-level technical support for end users while assisting with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audiovisual (AV) systems. This role supports Windows-based workstations, software applications, conference room technology, and related equipment to ensure reliable technology services for faculty, staff, and administrative personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, software, and peripheral devices.
Install, configure, and maintain Windows workstations and Microsoft Office applications.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, and user account issues.
Deploy new computers and manage IT and AV equipment inventory.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot conference room AV systems, displays, projectors, audio equipment, and video conferencing technology.
Provide AV support for meetings and special events as needed.
Coordinate equipment repairs, warranty service, and vendor support.
Document support activities and collaborate with IT staff to improve technology services.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Two or more years of IT support, desktop support, or AV support experience.
Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and desktop hardware.
Basic knowledge of audiovisual systems, including conference room technology and video conferencing platforms.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or similar collaboration platforms.
Familiarity with AV technologies such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, or QSC.
Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or CTS.
