Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Work Model: In person 4- 5 days/week

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Configurator Consultant to support the migration of product configuration capabilities from a legacy ERP platform to Oracle E-Business Suite R12. The consultant will work from functional and technical specifications prepared and approved by the internal team, implementing defined product-selection, engineering, pricing, and manufacturing requirements as maintainable Oracle Configurator models and rules.
This role serves as the technical implementation owner for assigned Oracle Configurator deliverables under the direction of internal functional and technical leads. The internal team will own requirements, functional specifications, solution direction, migration mappings, and business decisions. The consultant will implement approved specifications in Oracle E-Business Suite, provide functional support where delegated, and create the technical, configuration, testing, deployment, and support documentation associated with the implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in specification walkthroughs and clarification sessions led by internal stakeholders to understand approved configurable-product structures, selection logic, engineering constraints, pricing behavior, and downstream manufacturing requirements.
- Review internal functional and technical specifications, identify implementation questions or gaps, and implement approved legacy-to-Oracle mappings in Oracle Configurator.
- Act as the technical implementation owner for assigned Oracle Configurator models, building model items, option classes, features, options, defaults, compatibility rules, validation rules, and guided-selling logic in accordance with internal specifications and design direction.
- Develop and troubleshoot configuration logic using Oracle Configurator Developer, standard rule templates, Configurator Design Charts or CDL, and Configurator Extensions when required.
- Design and maintain Oracle Configurator user interfaces for internal quoting and order-entry processes.
- Integrate and validate Configurator behavior with Oracle Inventory, Bills of Material, Engineering, Order Management, Quoting, Advanced Pricing, WIP, routings, and Planning.
- Validate configured-item creation, BOM and routing selection, order booking, pricing, lead-time or promised-date behavior, work-order or supply generation, shipment, and applicable costing touchpoints.
- Use SQL and PL/SQL to analyze configuration data, validate conversions, reconcile results, troubleshoot failures, and support defect resolution.
- Work with internal leads and data-conversion teams to implement and validate approved model-related data specifications, including items, option classes, component relationships, quantities, routings, pricing inputs, and configuration rules.
- Create and maintain implementation documentation, including technical configuration documents, build records, rule documentation, unit-test evidence, defect-resolution notes, deployment instructions, and support runbooks. Functional specifications and business requirements will be provided and owned by the internal team.
- Develop and execute technical test scenarios for unit, system integration, conference room pilot, regression, and user acceptance testing; support business-led validation and maintain traceability from requirements to tested behavior.
- Prepare Configurator models for review and approved promotion through Oracle environments and support cutover, production stabilization, and knowledge transfer under established project governance.
- Collaborate across functional and technical teams, communicate risks and dependencies early, and ensure delivered models are maintainable and aligned with standard Oracle capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least five years of hands-on Oracle Configurator experience in Oracle E-Business Suite R12 environments.
- Demonstrated delivery experience across the Oracle Configurator lifecycle, including model design, rule development, user-interface development, testing, publication, deployment, and production support.
- Experience supporting the migration or conversion of product configuration capabilities from a legacy ERP or rules-based platform to Oracle Configurator.
- Strong experience with Oracle Configurator Developer, rule templates, CDL, Configurator Extensions, and Configurator user-interface development.
- Strong understanding of Assemble-to-Order and Pick-to-Order model design and the relationships among Inventory, BOM, Engineering, Order Management, WIP, routings, Quoting, and Advanced Pricing.
- Proficiency with SQL and PL/SQL for data analysis, conversion validation, troubleshooting, and debugging configured-order scenarios.
- Working knowledge of Java for developing or supporting Configurator Extensions.
- Ability to interpret functional and technical specifications and implement complex engineering, manufacturing, and commercial rules as supportable Oracle Configurator solutions.
- Experience producing technical configuration documents, build records, test evidence, deployment documentation, and operational support materials.
- Strong problem-solving, technical accountability, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.3.
Experience integrating Oracle Configurator with Oracle Quoting and Oracle Order Management.
Experience designing complex, nested, or highly constrained ATO/PTO models.
Experience validating sourcing, costing, routing, lead-time, and manufacturing outcomes for configured products.
Experience with Oracle APIs, open interfaces, Web ADI, or other controlled data-loading approaches for item, BOM, routing, and model-related data.
Experience in industrial manufacturing or engineered-to-order and configurable-product environments.
Experience working within controlled testing, documentation, change-management, and deployment processes.
Experience collaborating with onshore and offshore delivery teams across time zones.
Expected Deliverables
- Oracle Configurator models implemented according to internal team specifications and approved migration mappings.
- Completed Configurator models, rules, extensions, and internal user interfaces for the assigned scope.
- Technical configuration documents, rule documentation, build records, and implementation notes.
- Validated integration with item, BOM, routing, pricing, Order Management, manufacturing, and fulfillment processes.
- Complete test evidence for unit testing, system integration, CRP, UAT support, regression testing, and defect resolution.
- Deployment instructions, cutover support documentation, reconciliation evidence, support runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials.
