Position SummaryThe IT Hardware Deployment Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, imaging, deployment, and tracking of end-user technology equipment across multiple locations. This role supports large-scale hardware refresh and deployment initiatives, ensuring devices are properly configured, documented, and connected to the organization's network. The ideal candidate has experience working in fast-paced deployment environments, traveling to various sites, and maintaining accurate asset records throughout the deployment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in large-scale hardware deployment and technology refresh projects across multiple locations.
- Travel to customer sites as needed to install, replace, and configure IT equipment.
- Image, configure, and deploy laptops, desktops, workstations, and peripheral devices.
- Configure network connectivity and printer mapping to ensure devices are fully operational.
- Perform workstation setup, deployment, relocation, and replacement activities.
- Validate device functionality, software installations, and network access prior to deployment.
- Maintain accurate asset inventory records and deployment documentation.
- Track assigned equipment, deployment progress, and inventory using Microsoft Excel and other asset management tools.
- Document deployment activities, device assignments, and issue resolutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, operating system, and deployment-related issues.
- Collaborate with project teams and technical staff to ensure successful deployment execution.
- Follow established deployment procedures, security standards, and project timelines.
- Provide basic end-user support during device rollout and transition activities.
- Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate support teams when necessary.
Required Qualifications- 1+ years of experience supporting hardware deployment, technology refresh, or desktop support projects.
- Experience deploying and imaging Windows-based laptops and desktop computers.
- Familiarity with device provisioning, workstation configuration, and network connectivity.
- Experience supporting printer setup and printer mapping.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including updating, modifying, and maintaining deployment and asset-tracking spreadsheets.
- Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel to various locations on a weekly or monthly basis.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting enterprise-wide hardware refresh initiatives.
- Familiarity with deployment tools such as Microsoft SCCM, Intune, MDT, or Autopilot.
- Knowledge of asset management and inventory control processes.
- Experience working within a small deployment team supporting multiple locations.
- CompTIA A+ or related technical certification.
