Role Overview
Employees in this job function are responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and products to meet customer needs. They are involved in the entire software development lifecycle, including designing software architecture, writing code, testing for quality, and deploying the software. This role encompasses full-stack software engineering, developing all components of software including the user interface and server side.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to understand use-cases, pain points, and requirements, advocating for user-centric software solutions.
- Solve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering solutions using various tools, languages, frameworks, and methodologies like Agile.
- Assess application requirements to determine the most suitable technology stack, integration method, and deployment strategy.
- Create high-level software architecture designs outlining the overall structure, components, and interfaces of the application.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product owners, designers, and architects.
- Define and implement software test strategies, guidelines, and processes.
- Work on continuously improving performance and optimizing applications, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
- Utilize programming practices such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Support security practices to safeguard user data, including encryption and anonymization.
- Create user-friendly and interactive interfaces.
- Develop and maintain back-end applications like APIs and microservices using server-side languages.
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and capabilities to deliver solutions.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: 6+ years in IT, with 4+ years in development. Practical experience in two coding languages or advanced practice in one language.
Technical Skills: Adobe Suite, JavaScript, Angular, HTML5, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), React, Apache Sling, Java.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS).
- Experience with DevOps tools and processes, such as Git, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with microservices or service-oriented architecture.
- Curiosity and hands-on experience using AI tools to support development, testing, or content workflows.
- Adobe AEM certification(s).
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Agentic AI solutions for automated code reviews.
- Strong hands-on experience with modern front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3/Sass, JavaScript.
Additional Information
This position follows a hybrid schedule requiring four days a week in the office in Dearborn and one day a week from home. A fully remote option is not available. The candidate must be located near the Metro Detroit area and able to commute by the start date.
