Location: Garland, Texas
Role Overview
We are seeking Facilities Technician II professionals to support the operations at a Garland distribution center. This role supports critical building systems, preventative maintenance programs, equipment repairs, and overall facility uptime. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of facility and automation systems in a fast-paced, technology-driven operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Repairing and making improvements to building and infrastructure.
- Maintaining the distribution center's HVAC system.
- Supporting and maintaining fire protection systems.
- Maintaining and repairing distribution center racking.
- Repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and automated conveyor systems.
- Repairing and maintaining the building pneumatic system.
- Completing preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.
- Tracking and storing the department's inventory, including spare parts.
- Promoting and conducting good housekeeping practices.
- Supporting continuous improvement in the department.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of experience in facilities, maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or mechanical environments.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
- Excellent safety awareness and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
- 4+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
- HVAC certifications or hands-on commercial/industrial HVAC experience.
- Electrical maintenance experience.
- Experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
- Experience in distribution centers, fulfillment centers, manufacturing plants, or warehouses.
- Metal and wood fabrication skills, including welding.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, management, contractors, and vendors.
Work Environment
- Daily Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm
- Work involves repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
- Lifting parts and tools occasionally weighing up to 80 pounds is required.
- Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, and standing on concrete for long hours.
