Title: Senior Couchbase DBA (Couchbase | SQL++ | AWS | Linux)
About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Couchbase DBA / Architect to design, administer, and optimize enterprise Couchbase environments. This is a hands-on technical lead role in production-critical environments, covering L3 support, performance tuning, HA/DR, upgrades, automation, and architectural leadership.
Location: Onsite, Plano, TX 75024
Candidate Requirement: Subcontracting is not permitted for this role. Only W2
Key Responsibilities
- Design scalable, secure, highly available Couchbase cluster architectures on-premises and in AWS
- Administer clusters, including upgrades, patching, rebalance, failover, and day-to-day production operations
- Lead L3 troubleshooting, root cause analysis, performance tuning, and SQL++ query/index optimization
- Design XDCR, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and capacity planning
- Implement security controls, monitoring, and Linux/Python/Shell automation
- Partner with application, cloud, and infrastructure teams; lead technical reviews and mentor DBAs
Required Skills
- 10+ years of overall database experience
- Couchbase architecture, cluster administration, upgrades, and L3 production support
- SQL++ performance tuning, indexing, XDCR, HA/DR, backup and recovery
- AWS, Linux, and Python/Shell automation
- Strong enterprise troubleshooting skills, with a senior hands-on architect / technical lead background
Preferred Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on Couchbase experience
- Experience supporting production-critical environments at enterprise scale
