Location: Remote/Onshore

Duration: 12 Months

This is a Mainframe DB2 DBA / DB2 for z/OS requirement. DB2 z/OS v10/v11, DB2 Data Replication, HADR, Pacemaker, Automatic Storage, JCL/COBOL/CICS/VSAM, and VLDB partitioning.

Mainframe DB2 DBA – DB2 z/OS

We are seeking a highly experienced Mainframe DB2 DBA to lead complex database management, architecture, performance tuning, recovery, security, and migration initiatives in an enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain DB2 database environments and objects.
Perform DB2 database administration, performance tuning, capacity planning, and availability management.
Manage database recovery, backup/recovery solutions, security, auditing, and disaster recovery.
Perform DB2 software implementation, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.
Tune complex SQL and work with application teams to resolve long-running SQL and performance issues.
Design table partitioning strategies for very large databases (VLDB).
Develop data transformation and data migration/data mapping strategies.
Support DB2 architecture, data integration, database modernization, and enterprise-level database initiatives.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, documentation, and production support.
Work with application teams, client DBAs, vendors, and external consultants on complex database issues.
Support and upgrade DB2 on z/OS environments.

Required Skills

DB2 for z/OS v10/v11 – strong hands-on experience.
Strong DB2 DBA / database administration experience.
DB2 Data Replication experience.
DB2 HADR experience.
DB2 Pacemaker experience is a plus.
DB2 Automatic Storage experience.
Strong knowledge of JCL, COBOL, CICS, and VSAM.
Experience with VLDB databases and partitioning.
Strong DB2 performance tuning, SQL tuning, recovery, and troubleshooting.
Experience with database architecture, migration, data modeling, and integration.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
DB2 Certification is a plus.
Experience working in a ServiceNow environment is a plus.

Senior/Mainframe DB2 DBA with deep DB2 z/OS experience and hands-on expertise in DB2 replication, HADR, recovery, performance tuning, VLDB/partitioning, JCL, and enterprise mainframe
