Role: Senior DB2 z/OS DBA
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Db2 for z/OS subsystems.
Apply maintenance and fixes using SMP/E.
Administer production and non-production Db2 databases.
Execute and optimize Db2 utilities, including REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY, RECOVER, LOAD, and REBUILD INDEX.
Monitor and tune Db2 subsystems, SQL, buffer pools, locking, logging, storage, and application performance.
Support backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster-recovery testing.
Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
Support Q Replication, SQL Replication, Change Data Capture, and Db2 Connect.
Collaborate with application, CICS, storage, security, and z/OS infrastructure teams.
Follow ITIL incident, problem, change, and release-management processes.
Maintain technical documentation, implementation plans, and operational procedures.
Participate in rotational on-call and scheduled after-hours support.

Serves as the escalation point for high-severity incidents
Proposed Junior-Level Differentiation
Approximately 3 6 years of relevant mainframe or Db2 experience
Supports database administration, monitoring, utilities, maintenance, and incident resolution under senior guidance
Working knowledge of Db2, z/OS, JCL, SQL, TSO/ISPF, and production-support processes
Willingness to participate in on-call support and develop deeper systems-programming expertise
