Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise Microsoft SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SQL Server administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, security, and production support.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA.

• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019/2022.

• Strong knowledge of SQL Server installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and maintenance.

• Experience with SQL Server Agent, jobs, alerts, operators, and maintenance plans.

• Strong SQL query performance tuning and troubleshooting experience.

• Experience analyzing execution plans, blocking, deadlocks, wait statistics, CPU, memory, and I/O.

• Strong experience with indexing, statistics, stored procedures, and query optimization.

• Hands-on experience with backup and restore, point-in-time recovery, and disaster recovery.

• Experience with Always On Availability Groups, failover, and high-availability solutions.

• Experience with Log Shipping, Replication, and/or Failover Clustering.

• Strong understanding of database security, authentication, users, roles, permissions, and auditing.

• Experience with database migrations, upgrades, and environment refreshes.

• Experience supporting production/mission-critical databases.

• Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as DMVs, Extended Events, SQL Profiler, and Performance Monitor.

• Strong PowerShell or T-SQL scripting skills for DBA automation.

• Ability to work with application and development teams on database-related issues.

• Strong communication, documentation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Azure SQL / Azure database experience.

• Cloud migration experience.

• SSIS / SSRS / SSAS exposure.

• Experience with database monitoring tools.

• Experience in enterprise production environments.

• Knowledge of ITIL, change management, incident management, and RCA processes.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain SQL Server databases.

• Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and health.

• Troubleshoot production database incidents and perform root-cause analysis.

• Perform SQL query and database performance tuning.

• Manage backup, restore, recovery, and DR processes.

• Configure and support SQL Server HA/DR environments.

• Manage database security, permissions, and access controls.

• Perform SQL Server upgrades, patching, migrations, and maintenance.

• Create and maintain SQL Agent jobs and automated DBA processes.

• Work closely with application, development, infrastructure, and business teams.

• Participate in production deployments, maintenance windows, and on-call support.

• Maintain DBA documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
