Job Description

Our client has an immediate job opportunity for a Scrum Product Owner who has specific expertise in ServiceNow Implementation support. Knowledge of CSM, ITSM and/or CRM modules is required. This position is a contract to permanent opportunity and is hybrid (onsite 1-2x per week in Reston VA).

The selected Scrum Product Owner will be working with the scrum team, scrum master, external and internal project stakeholders, and management team on ServiceNow implementation project. The selected candidate will drive value to the business by building, managing, and maintaining a Product Backlog in collaboration with IT teams. Represents the business to the team, and defines business purpose and value for them. Defines the details of what is to be done and the overall scope of the project for the product offering. Ensures that acceptance criteria are well-defined. Plays a key role in shaping the product direction, creating the feature(s), writing user stories, and innovating collaboratively through Joint Application Development (JAD) and other brainstorming sessions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-- Develops and aligns the Product Roadmap to strategic goals by working with customers, both internal and external, as well as Stakeholders to analyze and document both business and technology needs.
-- Lead the efforts of defining the Product Backlogs by working closely with the team of Business Analysts, Architects, Technologists, SMEs, and business owners. Defines the Product Roadmap and uses it along with the Product Vision to develop epics and features, and works with Business Analysts to create user stories that accurately reflect the desired product capabilities.
-- Builds a Product Backlog and reviews it with business owners to determine business value and to assign priority. Determines the acceptance criteria and has the authority to accept or reject development team deliverables. Is accountable for the success of the product or component under their purview.
-- Guides Business Analysts on how to break down the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) into the user stories and shares expertise in writing effective user stories. Provides inputs to the Scrum Master on improvement opportunities with grooming sessions. Engages with clients, internal and external business partners and key stakeholders, and/or customers on as-needed basis to educate, and provide relevant information about the product.
-- Support culture change to improve delivery agility. Provide coaching to team members who are new to Scrum and Agile practices. Supports team building and team development by utilizing the abilities and skills of individuals, and fostering a feedback culture. Mentors Product Owners to ensure their success.

Required Skills

- Education Level: Bachelor's Degree - In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
- Certifications are preferred = Product Owner, Scrum/Agile, ServiceNow
- Experience: Min of 8 years total experience, with the last 6 years previous years as a Product Owner with an in-depth knowledge of agile process and principles.
- Seeking a Visionary and Road Map builder! Not an execution team member only. Must have experience building roadmaps for digital product advancements.
- Prior experience supporting a ServiceNow Implementation as a Product Owner. ServiceNow CSM, ITSM and/or CRM modules is required.
- Product vs Strategy and execution expertise
-Must be able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads that can be variable for long periods of time. Must have support multiple scrum teams at once.
-Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence.
-Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.

Must haves:
- Seasoned ServiceNow Product Owner with deep expertise in platform capabilities across ITSM and CSM modules
- Proven ability to deliver post-adoption account management experiences, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term value realization.
- Skilled in building trusted relationships with stakeholders across business and IT functions.
- Adept at communicating complex technical concepts in clear, business-friendly language.
- Comfortable facilitating workshops, demos, and roadmap discussions with C-level audiences
