About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced
Business & Data Analyst Consultant to support enterprise data and analytics initiatives within Commercial Banking.
The team is undergoing a large-scale data transformation, migrating approximately
500 databases from Teradata to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). In this role, you will partner with business stakeholders, product managers, data consumers, and technology teams to understand business needs, translate them into data requirements, analyze and validate data, troubleshoot data-related issues, and support reporting and analytics requests.
You will play an important role in ensuring data is accurate, reliable, and aligned with business requirements throughout the migration and beyond. As the organization's data strategy continues to evolve, there may also be opportunities to support
AI and advanced analytics initiatives.
This position is focused on
business analysis, data analysis, data quality, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. It does not include application development, data engineering, cloud administration, or database administration responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements.
- Perform data analysis using advanced SQL to identify trends, discrepancies, and data quality issues.
- Work within Google Cloud Platform, particularly BigQuery, to analyze and validate enterprise data.
- Support data migration activities from Teradata to Google Cloud Platform, including source-to-target validation and post-migration data verification.
- Investigate and troubleshoot data-related issues and respond to business and data-consumer requests.
- Develop and maintain data validation, reconciliation, reporting, and quality-control processes.
- Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders.
- Partner with data and technology teams to support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate that solutions meet documented business requirements.
- Support data governance, lineage, and documentation efforts across enterprise data products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams operating in Agile environments.
- Contribute to emerging analytics and AI initiatives as the organization's cloud data capabilities mature.
Minimum Qualifications- Demonstrated expertise in SQL, including querying and analyzing large, complex datasets.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) data environments, including BigQuery.
- Experience working with large-scale data warehouses or enterprise analytics platforms.
- Experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and translating business and data requirements.
- Experience with data quality, validation, reconciliation, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex data issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience working with business and technology stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting large-scale data migration or cloud transformation initiatives, particularly migrations involving Google Cloud Platform or BigQuery.
- Experience with Teradata and/or Teradata-to-Google Cloud Platform migration initiatives.
- Experience supporting enterprise data products and analytics platforms.
- Knowledge of data governance, data lineage, and data management concepts.
- Experience coordinating UAT and validating business requirements.
- Experience working in Agile environments and using Jira.
- Experience within banking, commercial banking, financial services, risk, or compliance environments.
- Exposure to AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics initiatives within a cloud data environment.
