Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Data Governance & Quality Analyst to champion the integrity, security, and usability of our enterprise data assets. The ideal candidate brings a blend of sharp analytical capabilities, robust SQL skills, and a deep understanding of data stewardship principles within the healthcare ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Quality Oversight: Design, implement, and monitor robust data validation frameworks to isolate operational anomalies, profile complex datasets, and mitigate systemic data errors.
  • Enterprise Data Stewardship: Establish and actively maintain standardized corporate data glossaries, map cross-functional data lineage, and archive critical metadata profiles.
  • Collaborative Alignment: Function as the primary liaison between business units and IT engineering teams to translate complex data challenges into actionable technical requirements.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Monitor data handling procedures to ensure full compliance with healthcare privacy mandates while building interactive quality dashboards and governance status reports for leadership.

Candidate Requirements

Professional Experience

  • Required:
    • 3 to 8 years of dedicated experience within data analysis, data quality management, corporate data governance, or an equivalent analytical field.
    • Proven cross-functional history collaborating with both business leaders and technical engineering squads to resolve data lifecycle bottlenecks.
    • Solid understanding of enterprise data architectures, specifically surrounding metadata management strategies and documentation standards.
  • Preferred:
    • Prior healthcare industry exposure, with deep domain knowledge in managed care environments, commercial payer operations, or Medicare Advantage lines of business.
    • Hands-on utility experience maintaining or deploying data catalogs, Master Data Management (MDM) platforms, or data observability tools within an active production setting.
    • Regulatory baseline comfort navigating CMS structural demands, healthcare claims frameworks, and strict HIPAA compliance landscapes.

Education & Credentials

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline (equivalent, high-level professional experience will be factored in place of a degree).
  • Preferred:
    • Advanced specialization coursework or professional certifications related to health informatics or enterprise data analytics.
    • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) designation at the Associate level.

Core Skills & Competencies

Technical & Analytic Capabilities

  • Advanced Data Querying (SQL): Mastery of SQL for advanced data mining, schema validation, multi-dataset comparisons, and ad-hoc troubleshooting across relational databases and cloud data warehouses.
  • Validation & Impact Analysis: Competent in setting up precise data checkpoints, assessing the downstream fallout of corrupted information, and formalizing audit summaries for governance review board evaluation.
  • Data Cataloging & Architecture Tools: Exposure to, or an active desire to master, enterprise-grade data discovery catalogs (e.g., Alation, ) or automated quality platforms (e.g., Informatica DQ, ).

Domain Knowledge & Communication

  • Healthcare Literacy: Familiarity with foundational medical data types (claims pipelines, member enrollment files, provider networks, and encounter metrics) specific to Medicare Advantage; awareness of CPT and ICD-10 coding mechanics is highly valued.
  • Governance Frameworks: Fundamental understanding of data privacy laws and structural governance methodologies, such as those outlined by the DAMA-DMBOK framework.
  • Strategic Reporting: Capable of translating complex dataset findings into streamlined dashboards and analytical summaries using industry-standard business intelligence tools (e.g., , ) and advanced Excel.
