Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network Systems Engineer for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX, or Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is responsible for the administration and maintenance of a large virtualized environment. The ideal candidate will handle patching, configuration, and troubleshooting of vSphere, Aria Suite, network, storage, and hardware components, along with documentation and security remediation. This position requires some weekend work, approximately one weekend per month.
Responsibilities: - Patch, configure, and maintain a large vSphere 8x and VCF 9x environment, Aria Suite, firmware, and other related products
- Troubleshoot vSphere, Aria, network, storage, and hardware issues
- Create and maintain documentation, update certificates, and perform violation and vulnerability identification and remediation
- Work occasional weekends as required (approximately one per month)
Requirements: - Minimum of 7 years of experience in supporting, troubleshooting, maintaining, patching, and performance analysis of VMware vSphere and ESXi (including v8.x and VCF9)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting Aria suite products
- Strong understanding and experience with security and authentication of VMware and hardware interfaces
- Strong networking, infrastructure knowledge, and troubleshooting ability
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Software Defined Storage (VSAN)
- High-level knowledge and experience with HP ProLiant and Dell server hardware platform configuration with associated firmware and management interfaces
- Ability to follow, define, document, and implement technical procedures
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment where time to deliver is of paramount importance
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience communicating with and working on global teams within a large organization
- Experience in executing technical strategy
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong understanding and ability to work within an ITIL framework
Desired skills: - PowerShell Scripting
- Knowledge of BitBucket and Jira
Pay range: $63.68 - $71.68 per hour
