Position Overview
Client is seeking a highly experienced Lead ETL Developer to support the VISION CWIS FACS Conversion Initiative.
The project involves extracting data from the Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) BigQuery environment and delivering the data into enterprise SQL-based data warehouses. This initiative is critical to the modernization and continued operation of applications currently dependent on FACS.
The Lead ETL Developer will provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, development oversight, training, and mentoring to an ETL development team throughout the data conversion and migration effort.
The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and optimizing data ingestion and migration pipelines while ensuring data quality, accuracy, scalability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
ETL & Data Engineering
- Lead the development of ETL and data ingestion processes supporting the migration from Google Cloud Platform BigQuery to SQL-based enterprise data warehouses.
- Design, build, test, and deploy scalable data migration and integration pipelines.
- Develop pipelines that ingest data from disparate sources, including:
- Cloud platforms
- Flat files
- Relational databases
- Historical data sources
- Real-time data sources
- Transform, cleanse, standardize, and load data into enterprise data models.
- Support data delivery to data warehouses, data lakes, and analytical databases.
- Ensure transactional and analytical data models contain all required data elements.
- Validate data structures and transformations to support downstream applications and BI/reporting solutions.
- Optimize ETL pipelines for performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical leadership and architecture guidance to the ETL development team.
- Lead and mentor a team of 4+ ETL developers.
- Establish and enforce ETL development standards, coding practices, and reusable development patterns.
