Job Description:
Role: Desktop Support Specialist
Location: Newtown Square, PA (onsite)
Fulltime
Primary skill: Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems. For Troubleshooting and resolving desktop operating-system issues remotely (Windows/macOS support via remote tools)
Secondary skill: Familiarity with remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer, AnyDesk)
Job Summary
Provide remote technical support to end-users for desktop systems, applications, and hardware. Troubleshoot and resolve issues via remote tools. Ensure high customer satisfaction and maintain system security.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote desktop support via phone, chat, email, and remote-control tools.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues.
- Install, configure, and update operating systems and applications.
- Manage user accounts and access permissions as applicable.
- Document issues and resolutions in ticketing system.
- Collaborate and Escalate complex issues with appropriate teams.
- Maintain knowledge base articles.
- Ensure security compliance and follow IT policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in desktop support or help desk role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer, AnyDesk, Remote Desktop).
- Understanding of networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or similar.
- Experience with ITIL or similar service management frameworks.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications.
