We are seeking a dedicated Mainframe Operator - Level 1 Incident Manager
Location: Pontiac, MI -- ONSITE... no remote

Contract assignment. Up to $43/hour. Benefits-eligible
Purpose:
- To join our IT support team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing mainframe systems, ensuring operational stability, and promptly addressing incidents to minimize downtime.
- Your expertise will support the seamless functioning of critical IT infrastructure, contributing to overall organizational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to incident management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Functions as a Level 1 Incident Manager for critical incidents/events relating to various IT technology.
- Quickly create, escalate, triage and track customer technology related incidents.
- Excellent communication skills necessary to collaborate with IT staff, customers and vendors
- Utilize graphical monitoring systems tracking availability and status of infrastructure connectivity, assets and services.
- Monitors mainframe control consoles, periodically checking system performance.
- May assist with the review/validation of mainframe job control language.
- Perform deliveries as assigned and must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- The position mandates a presence onsite; there is not a work from home option.
- Applicants could be requested to work holidays, days, afternoons and/or midnight shifts.

Requirement:
- ·Must have an in-depth knowledge and at least 5 years of experience with Microsoft Teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience in mainframe operations or IT support roles with a focus on incident management
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and network troubleshooting
- Familiarity with help desk systems and customer support ticket management tools
- Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting, equipment diagnostics, and software troubleshooting within enterprise environments
- Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing technical issues efficiently
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
