Role: Senior Actimize AML Technical Lead

Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced AML Technical Lead with strong expertise in Ab Initio, Actimize AML-SAM and CDD.
The candidate will provide onsite technical leadership, own production support activities, lead the offshore development/support team, and work closely with AML Business, Product, Compliance, Data, and Technology stakeholders.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Ab Initio ETL and knowledge on SAM & CDD, along with proven experience managing production issues and leading offshore teams.
Key Responsibilities
Onsite Technical Leadership
- Act as the primary onsite technical lead for Actimize IT team.
- Serve as the key technical point of contact between business stakeholders, AML/Product teams, technology teams, and offshore resources.
- Lead technical discussions, requirement analysis, solution design, estimation, planning, and implementation.
- Translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Coordinate with architecture, infrastructure, database, data engineering, and application teams.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to offshore team members.
Production Support & Application Operations
- Own and lead Actimize AML production support activities.
- Monitor daily AML processing, batch jobs, data feeds, and downstream Actimize processes.
- Analyze and resolve production incidents related to Ab Initio, SAM, CDD and AML data feeds.
- Perform root-cause analysis and provide permanent fixes for recurring production issues.
- Lead incident management, problem management, and defect-resolution activities.
- Coordinate with offshore teams to investigate and resolve production issues within defined SLAs.
- Perform production data analysis and reconciliation using SQL/Ab Initio and Actimize data.
- Troubleshoot failed jobs, rejected records, missing data, data-quality issues, processing failures, and application issues.
- Coordinate with infrastructure/database/application support teams for cross-platform issues.
- Support emergency fixes, production deployments, and post-deployment validation.
- Participate in production release planning, implementation, and validation.
- Ensure daily/monthly AML processing is completed successfully and issues are proactively identified.
- Maintain production support documentation, runbooks, knowledge articles, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual production-support activities and improve application stability.
- Participate in on-call/support rotations when required.
Offshore Team Leadership
- Lead and manage the offshore Actimize/Ab Initio development and production-support team.
- Assign daily tasks and prioritize work based on business and production priorities.
- Conduct regular status meetings with offshore team members.
- Review offshore deliverables, technical solutions, code, and implementation plans.
- Track incidents, defects, enhancements, and project deliverables through completion.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to offshore resources.
- Coordinate knowledge transfer between onsite and offshore teams.
- Ensure offshore team follows established development, testing, deployment, and production-support standards.
- Monitor offshore team performance, workload, priorities, and delivery timelines.
- Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Ensure seamless onsite/offshore collaboration and handoffs.
- Build and maintain strong technical capability within the offshore team.
Ab Initio – Strong Technical Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience with Ab Initio ETL development.
- Experience with GDE, graphs, components, plans, sandboxes, and deployment processes.
- Develop and maintain complex ETL workflows supporting AML applications.
- Perform data extraction, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and loading.
- Troubleshoot and tune Ab Initio graphs and production jobs.
- Analyze performance bottlenecks and optimize large-volume data processing.
- Perform source-to-target data analysis and data lineage tracing.
- Support production failures and data-quality issues involving Ab Initio processes.
Actimize SAM
- knowledge of Actimize SAM (Suspicious Activity Monitoring).
- Understanding of SAM architecture, scenarios, rules, alerts, transactions, entities, and investigations.
- Support SAM data feeds, batch processing, and application workflows.
- Troubleshoot SAM-related production issues and data discrepancies.
- Support SAM enhancements, rule changes, and regulatory requirements.
- Validate transaction and customer data flowing into Actimize SAM.
- Work with AML stakeholders to analyze alert and transaction-monitoring requirements.
Actimize CDD / Customer Risk Rating
- knowledge of Actimize CDD and Customer Risk Rating.
- Understand customer risk factors, attributes, scoring, weighting, segmentation, and risk classification.
- Support CDD rule and risk-factor changes.
- Validate customer-risk outcomes following releases and production changes.
- Work closely with AML/Compliance teams to understand and implement CRR requirements.
AML Domain Expertise
- Understanding of AML/KYC processes.
- Customer Due Diligence (CDD).
- Customer Risk Rating (CRR).
- Suspicious Activity Monitoring (SAM).
- Transaction monitoring.
Production & Delivery Responsibilities
- Own technical delivery from requirements through production implementation.
- Participate in SIT, UAT, regression testing, production deployment, and post-production validation.
- Coordinate release activities across onsite/offshore teams.
- Ensure production changes follow appropriate change-management and approval processes.
- Prepare implementation plans, deployment checklists, rollback plans, and validation procedures.
- Track and communicate project status, production incidents, risks, dependencies, and issues to stakeholders.
- Proactively identify application/data risks and recommend remediation.
- Drive continuous improvement of AML applications and production-support processes.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- 10+ years of IT experience with strong financial-services experience.
- 5+ years of Actimize/AML experience preferred.
- Strong Ab Initio experience.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale AML platforms in production.
- Experience managing offshore development and production-support teams.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience working with banking, credit-card, or other financial-services organizations.
