Cloud Migration Engineer 100% Remote
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, secure, and optimize scalable cloud environments supporting applications, infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) platforms. This position will play a key role in migrating on-premises applications, workloads, and databases to public cloud environments while ensuring security, compliance, performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), along with expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, networking, virtualization, and systems administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and modify scalable cloud architecture supporting applications, IaaS, and PaaS platforms.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure and highly available cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure cloud environments meet security, compliance, data protection, and privacy requirements.
- Plan and execute migrations of on-premises applications, workloads, and databases to public cloud platforms.
- Monitor and analyze cloud infrastructure performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other cross-functional teams to support cloud initiatives.
- Develop automation and scripting solutions to improve infrastructure deployment, management, and operational efficiency.
- Design and maintain controls and processes using available cloud audit and monitoring tools.
- Support cloud networking, virtual private clouds (VPCs), firewalls, and related security infrastructure.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of cloud products, services, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations regarding cloud architecture and infrastructure strategy.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency with at least one major public cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with automation and scripting using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, and firewalls.
- Advanced experience with virtual machine (VM) management and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Strong Windows Server and Active Directory administration experience.
- Experience administering Linux environments.
- Understanding of cloud security, compliance, monitoring, and infrastructure best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5–6+ years of experience working with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Previous experience supporting government, public-sector, or highly regulated environments.
- Experience with cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
- Familiarity with cloud governance, auditing, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education, certifications, and professional experience will be considered.
