This Role is 100% REMOTEAt this time, Foot Locker will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization, or offer any immigration related support for this position (i.e. H1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, TN, or another type of work authorization.We are seeking a Senior Engineer - Customer Store Experience with deep Oracle Xstore POS expertise to design, build, and support scalable customer-facing store technology solutions across our global retail footprint. This role focuses on Xstore POS enhancements, integrations, payments, loyalty, promotions, returns, and omnichannel experiences.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and support Oracle Xstore POS and Back Office enhancements for loyalty, promotions, returns, exchanges, receipts, omnichannel transactions, and payment-related experiences.
- Analyze business requirements, assess impacts to Xstore transaction flows, and deliver technical designs, estimates, and Java-based solutions using Xstore frameworks, extension points, data models, and configuration.
- Build and support integrations between Xstore and enterprise services, including customer data, loyalty, order management, promotions, and payments, using RESTful APIs, messaging, XML/JSON payloads, and integration patterns.
- Partner with Product and QA to refine requirements, define acceptance criteria, review test scenarios, resolve defects, and validate readiness for store deployment.
- Investigate production issues using logs, transaction data, service responses, and monitoring tools; support incident response, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and operational documentation.
- Provide technical guidance, participate in design and code reviews, and promote consistent development and documentation standards across the POD.

- 5+ years of software engineering experience with Oracle Xstore POS development, customization, and Java-based extensions.
- Experience delivering customer-facing retail POS, Back Office, and payment solutions.
- Experience with Xstore integrations for order management, loyalty, promotions, and payments.
- Strong understanding of store operations, customer journeys, checkout workflows, and global deployment considerations.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills across Product, QA, Operations, Architecture, Security, Networking, and vendor teams.
- Strong proficiency with RESTful services, message queues, XML/JSON payloads, and integration patterns.
- Experience with Git/GitHub for source control, branching, pull requests, code reviews, release management, and collaborative development.
- Strong SQL and database skills with Oracle Database, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar relational platforms.
- Experience with Linux and Windows environments, scripting, automation, and deployment troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native application platforms.
- Experience with Azure cloud services, API management, monitoring tools, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms for build, test, deployment, and release automation.
- Proficiency with Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, or similar development environments.
- Experience with Microsoft .NET (C#) services, APIs, or integrations that interact with Oracle Xstore and retail platforms.
Preferred Requirements: - Knowledge of payment fundamentals, including card-present transaction flows, EMV, tokenization, offline processing, and eWallet tenders.
- Experience with payment gateway integrations and mobile payment solutions.
BenefitsThe annual base salary range is $105,000 - $125,000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
