Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a SENIOR ENGINEER for a FULL TIME assignment with one of our premier UTILITY clients in CROMWELL, CT .
This role will support the planning, design, analysis, and execution of water infrastructure projects while serving as a technical resource across engineering and operations teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in water systems engineering, hydraulic analysis, project management, and infrastructure design.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering efforts for water infrastructure, treatment, pumping, and distribution system projects.
- Develop technical specifications, cost estimates, engineering studies, and design documentation.
- Conduct hydraulic analyses and system modeling to evaluate performance, capacity, and operational improvements.
- Support the design and permitting of water supply facilities, wells, pumping stations, pipelines, storage facilities, and treatment systems.
- Evaluate alternatives for water resource development and infrastructure improvements.
- Conduct technical reviews of engineering plans, designs, proposals, and construction documents.
- Perform field investigations, site inspections, and construction oversight to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Analyze operational and water usage data to support planning and capital investment decisions.
- Contribute to GIS and asset management initiatives.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, feasibility studies, and recommendations for management and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineering staff and provide technical leadership across projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 10+ years of engineering experience supporting utility, water, wastewater, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong project management capabilities.
- Experience with hydraulic modeling and infrastructure design.
- Proficiency with GIS applications and asset management systems.
- Experience using AutoCAD or comparable engineering design software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting water treatment, distribution, storage, pumping, or resource development projects.
- Familiarity with permitting and regulatory compliance processes.
- Experience preparing public-facing reports, technical studies, and capital project recommendations.
- Prior leadership or mentoring experience.
- Knowledge of utility operations and infrastructure lifecycle planning.
