Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a PROJECT ENGINEER for a FULL TIME assignment with one of our premier UTILITY clients in CROMWELL, CT .
This position will support the planning, design, and delivery of infrastructure projects focused on water systems and related facilities. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, operations, and project teams to advance critical capital improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering designs, specifications, estimates, and project documentation.
- Support planning and execution of water infrastructure and facility improvement projects.
- Conduct field investigations, site assessments, and construction observations.
- Assist with the design of pumping stations, pipelines, storage facilities, treatment systems, and related infrastructure.
- Perform hydraulic analyses and operational evaluations of water systems.
- Develop feasibility studies and evaluate engineering alternatives.
- Review plans, designs, and technical proposals for accuracy and compliance.
- Support GIS and asset management programs through data analysis and technical input.
- Prepare reports, presentations, permitting documentation, and project recommendations.
- Coordinate activities with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain compliance with safety requirements and engineering standards.
- Support additional engineering projects and initiatives as assigned.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- EIT certification or approximately 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience supporting engineering design, planning, or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of hydraulic analysis and water system design principles.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Project management experience.
- AutoCAD or similar engineering design software experience.
- Familiarity with utility infrastructure, water systems, or municipal engineering projects.
- Experience supporting regulatory permitting and infrastructure construction activities.
