Role Overview
The main function of a Technical Project Manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in fields such as information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming. This role involves managing program approvals against fixed launch dates and requires strong organizational skills. The successful candidate will navigate a large organization to engage subject matter experts and provide clear status reports to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans to coordinate project activity.
- Manage backup, security, and user help systems.
- Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.
- Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, and others to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
- Provide users with technical support for computer problems.
- Participate in staffing decisions.
- Evaluate data processing proposals to assess project feasibility and requirements.
- Manage parallel legal, privacy, or compliance approvals against fixed launch dates.
- Oversee evidence gathering and maintain documentation discipline across legal, engineering, and business partners.
- Navigate a large matrixed organization to find and mobilize the right points of contact.
- Provide crisp written status reporting and blocker escalation to senior stakeholders.
- Onboard to unfamiliar internal tooling and review workflows in a self-directed manner.
Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is required.
Skills:- Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
- Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software.
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
- Knowledge of computer software, such as Visual Basic, Java, or SQL.
Preferred Qualifications
- An MBA or other related advanced degree is preferred.
- PMI or PMP certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Products (Marketing Cloud & Data Cloud).
- Experience with data management or B2B marketing.
- Experience with data compliance management.
