Job Description
Required Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of moving or migrating databases
- Systems validation after migration
- Considerable working background in Microsoft SQL database administration
- Architecture and troubleshooting in a working environment
- Database administration and backup/recovery management
- Working knowledge of backing up and restoring of production databases
- Experience with Oracle (small footprint, but primary focus will be SQL)
Primary Responsibilities
- Fill day to daily break/fix incident response on SQL environment
- Work with SQL environment that runs in a SQL Max platform hardware solution, dedicated for SQL performance
- Support SQL versions ranging from 2008 – 2019
- Utilize role for running updates, restore, and recovery if or when required
- Assist with migration project work to free up dedicated DBA resources
Current Projects
Currently working on a SQL Mac migration project to move from an EOL hardware to a new solution. We are looking to free up some work for our dedicated DBA who is working primarily on project work and migrations.
Skills/Requirements
- Administration and management of production databases Required 5 Years
- Basic to advanced troubleshooting skills. Required 5 Years
- Backup/recovery/monitoring of databases. Required 5 Years
- Communication within a team environment with peers as well as customer facing Required 5 Years
- Security assessment and review of database administration and access. Required 5 Years
- Design, configuration, deploying, troubleshooting, administration, and maintaining systems. Required 5 Years
- Ensuring project and workload documentation and process are accurate, on time, and stored properly Required 5 Years
