Contractor - Security Operations Analyst

The Data Protection program serves the needs of Schwab by implementing data security best practices via technologies and methods that secure data in motion, data in use, and data at rest.
Client s Security & Technology Operations organization is seeking a Security Operations Analyst for the Data Protection Team. The position is responsible for delivery of various data security operational processes related to Database Activity Monitoring. The selected candidate will participate in a team that monitors, analyzes, and responds to information security related risks such as policy violations, and threats to Schwab databases. Members of the team are also tasked with supporting the efforts of the Security Operations Team, Risk Management, and various Engineering teams for program maturity. The successful candidate will be a technical, passionate, and self-driven individual who loves to learn, solve problems, and contribute to the advancement of the team.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science or related field
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, and ability to maintain detailed living documents.
- Build trusted relationships with peers and cross-functional teams.
- Experience communicating security concepts to business teams.
- Passion to design solutions to automate manual processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred - Relevant professional certification (CISA, CISSP, CIA or equivalent).
- Minimum of 1+ years Security Experience or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Data Protection concepts (e.g. Data Loss Prevention, Encryption, Data at Rest versus Data in Motion, Unstructured versus Structured data).
- Understanding of information security best practices and technologies.
- Experience with Python, SQL, and/or PowerShell strongly preferred.
- Analytical background and an analytical approach; especially with respect to event classification, event correlation, and root cause analysis.
