Job Purpose
The Transfer Pricing Analyst supports the Tax Department in accurately reporting and paying income tax liabilities to various tax authorities and accurately reporting income taxes in financial statements for internal and external stakeholders. This position is responsible for technical transfer pricing matters, including financial modeling and economic analysis related to transfer pricing planning and compliance. Responsibilities include supporting the management of APA and 482/6662 contemporaneous transfer pricing documentation, responding to IRS requests related to transfer pricing, and calculating transfer pricing results. The role requires a strong understanding of transfer pricing models, internal financial and accounting data, budget and actual pricing events, and external economic and financial inputs used in transfer pricing models and compliance analysis. The Transfer Pricing Analyst also interacts and coordinates with Honda-related companies regarding transfer pricing matters and requires knowledge of company-specific business transactions, operational matters, economic analysis, procedural requirements, I.R.C. Section 482, and quantitative modeling.
Key Accountabilities
Economic & Financial Modeling
? Develop and maintain complex financial models for compliance with proposed APA methodology and transfer pricing regulations.
Data Gathering & Analysis
? Gather, analyze, and troubleshoot data used in financial and economic models and transfer pricing reports submitted to tax and transfer pricing authorities.
? Check and confirm data accuracy.
? Quickly identify data discrepancies and potential shortcomings.
? Perform comparable company searches and screening for application in APA models and 6662 contemporaneous transfer pricing documentation studies.
? Provide responses to requests involving BEPS/CBCR and other relevant tax guidelines and inquiries.
Results Analysis & Implementation
? Analyze results from economic and financial models and make relevant recommendations to management.
? Calculate required transfer pricing adjustments, markups, royalty rates, service charges, and other applicable items.
Report Writing
? Prepare 6662 contemporaneous transfer pricing documentation studies.
? Prepare and assist with submissions to tax authorities related to transfer pricing audits or APA requests.
Coordination & Collaboration
? Support ongoing transfer pricing and planning projects and business plan initiatives.
? Coordinate and collaborate with external advisors and other areas within the company to gather and provide data.
? Work cross-functionally on transfer pricing compliance and planning matters.
Research & Communication
? Research important transfer pricing issues.
? Effectively communicate findings and influence decisions while balancing business needs and compliance requirements.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Education
? BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business required.
? Continued technical education in the statutory and regulatory environment.
Experience
? 4+ years of transfer pricing experience with a major multinational corporation, Big 4, or equivalent.
Job-Specific Skills
? Solid understanding of U.S. transfer pricing regulations and OECD transfer pricing guidelines.
? Understanding of general accounting, finance, and economic concepts.
? Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to analyze and interpret financial model results.
? Advanced MS Excel modeling skills, including the ability to create, review, enhance, and troubleshoot complex financial and economic models.
? Strong verbal and written communication skills.
? Highly organized with the ability to work independently and reliably.
