There’s a delicate balance of connecting you with relevant tech job opportunities while also protecting you from irrelevant or excessive communication from recruiters. We've been listening closely to your feedback and understand that unwanted outreach can be more than just annoying – it can be disruptive to your job search.

At Dice, we take our role as an advocate for tech professionals seriously. That includes not only listening to your feedback but acting on it. As a result, we continue to address the spam experience that some of you have on the Dice platform head-on. First, by implementing robust product features and enhancements to shield you from unwanted communication. And second, by promoting clear expectations and better outreach practices among recruiters.

Here are the new and ongoing things we’ve built into today’s Dice experience to ensure it’s as positive, protected and most of all, effective for both tech professionals like you, and the recruiters who are looking for you.

Your most productive and secure job search starts with having the right resources at your fingertips. That's why we've developed the new Dice Privacy and Trust Center, a comprehensive hub to help you take control of and protect your Dice profile.

  • Maximize Security: Discover how to make the most of our platform's privacy features.

Your inbox is your personal space, and you should have full control over who enters it. With Dice Private Email, you can manage how recruiters reach out to you while safeguarding your personal email address.

  • Anonymous Email: We auto-generate a unique, anonymous email address just for your job search activities so that you can keep your personal email private and decide whether you want to share it with recruiters.
  • Manage Unwanted Messages: Flag any irrelevant emails to help us detect and prevent spam. Leverage the 1-click unsubscribe feature and block any recruiters who aren’t contributing to your job search.
  • Control Access: Stop receiving Private Emails by simply turning off your profile visibility.

Dice Instant Message is another trusted channel where you can interact with recruiters while protecting your personal information.

  • Privacy Controls: Connect with recruiters without revealing your personal contact information. And see when recruiters are online so you can engage in real-time conversations and maximize your job search opportunities.
  • Notification Preferences: Easily turn on (or off) SMS and email notifications to stay instantly updated whenever a new message arrives.
  • Manage Outreach: Block any recruiters who are sending you unwanted IMs right within the chat box so that you can focus on the most relevant messages.

On the Dice platform, recruiters have a responsibility to create a great candidate experience as well. To help them do their part, we’ve introduced new spam controls and updated our policies to ensure more consistent and, frankly, better behavior from recruiters:

  • Auto Sender Suppression: Our system now automatically blocks senders who have repeatedly been reported for spam until they clean up their act.

  • Smart Notifications: We're not just filtering on our end – we're actively promoting best practices and better behavior. Recruiters and employers receive automatic notifications when they approach our spam thresholds, helping to address the issue at its source.
  • Swift Corrective Action: Our compliance team is committed to monitoring and taking immediate action with recruiters who violate our anti-spam policies. You're reports of unwanted phone calls, texts, or emails are important, and we act on them at once.

  • Continuous Improvement: We're constantly refining our processes based on your feedback and working with recruiters to stay ahead of potential spam threats.

Your trust is fundamental to our platform, and we're committed to earning and keeping it every day. These specific features are just the beginning of our ongoing efforts to create a more secure job search environment.

We also welcome and value your continued input. Let us know what you think about the new Dice Privacy & Trust Center. And keep your ideas coming about what we can improve next. Thanks for being part of the growing Dice tech talent community. We’re excited for the opportunities ahead and creating them together.
