Job Summary The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of innovative learning solutions that support organizational goals and employee performance. This role applies advanced instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and e-learning technologies to create engaging, effective training programs. The Senior Instructional Designer partners with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to assess learning needs, design curricula, and deliver training that enhances knowledge, skills, and competencies across the workforce.
Education & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Training & Development, related field or equivalent experience
5 years of experience in designing self-paced, instructor-led, blended learning, video, and e-Learning training programs
be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation
Experience leading large scale projects involving multiple stakeholders
Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Rise, or Camtasia
Familiarity with adult learning theories and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, Kirkpatrick)
Preferred: Master's degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Training & Development or related field
Experience using multimedia/graphics software
Experience in a healthcare or customer service environment
Knowledge of or experience with military culture is strongly preferred
Key Responsibilities Conducts need assessments and performance analyses to identify training gaps.
Designs and develops instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, blended learning programs, and job aids.
Manage large-scale projects, including cross-functional collaboration with Human Capital, IT, and operational teams.
Leverages learning management systems (LMS) and authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Captivate) to build scalable training solutions.
Ensures training content aligns with organizational objectives, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
Conducts train-the-trainer sessions and coaching trainers to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
Evaluates training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and data analysis, and recommend improvements.
Leads projects, mentoring junior instructional designers, and contributing to the overall learning strategy of the organization.
