DevOps Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a local DevOps Engineer located in the Salt Lake City, UT area.

Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Automation & IaC:
* Design, build, and maintain scalable Azure cloud infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
* Develop modular, reusable IaC components following best practices
* Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of cloud resources

CI/CD & DevOps Practices:
* Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms
* Integrate automated testing, quality gates, and deployment strategies into pipelines
* Implement environment promotion workflows supporting Dev, Test, Staging, and Production

Cloud Operations & Reliability:
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Azure services
* Implement observability, alerting, and automated remediation
* Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies

Security & Compliance:
* Embed security controls in IaC deployments
* Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards
* Automate vulnerability scanning and compliance validation

REQUIREMENTS:
* A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required for this position
* 3-5+ years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering
* Expertise with Azure services
* Strong proficiency with Terraform, Bicep, or other IaC tools
* Experience automating with PowerShell, Bash, or Python
* Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively
* Automation-first mindset
* Attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred:
* Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
* Knowledge of configuration management tools
* Experience implementing Azure Policies or Landing Zones
* Relevant certifications (AZ-400, AZ-305, Terraform Associate)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
