Summary
Job Title: Data Architect - Microsoft Fabric
Location: Warren, NJ
We are seeking a senior-level Microsoft Fabric Data Architect to design, standardize, and lead modern data platform architectures for a premier consulting client. This role is responsible for shaping end-to-end data architecture across ingestion, storage, governance, and analytics, while ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with enterprise standards.
The architect will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, governance functions, and cloud platform teams to translate complex data needs into robust, future-ready Microsoft Fabric solutions.
Key Responsibilities-
Design and own end-to-end data architectures using Microsoft Fabric components including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, and Real-Time Analytics

Define data modeling strategies (dimensional, canonical, and semantic models) to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning use cases

Establish integration patterns for batch, streaming, and API-based data ingestion across enterprise systems

Develop and maintain architecture blueprints, reference architectures, and design standards aligned with enterprise and client guardrails

Partner with Data Governance and Security teams to embed metadata, lineage, data quality, sensitivity labeling, and access controls within the Fabric ecosystem

Provide architectural guidance and oversight to data engineers, analysts, and BI developers, ensuring consistent implementation across projects

Lead technical and architectural design reviews, proactively identifying risks and recommending improvements

Evaluate new Microsoft Fabric capabilities and recommend adoption strategies aligned with business priorities

10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or analytics platform design

Strong hands-on and architectural experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services

Deep understanding of modern data architectures (Lakehouse, data fabric, data mesh concepts)

Expertise in data modeling, governance, metadata management, and data quality practices

Proficiency in SQL and Python from an architectural and solution design perspective

Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments (insurance, BFSI, healthcare, or similar)

Strong stakeholder communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
