Collibra Data Engineer
About the Role:
Seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Information Technology Services & Data Analytics team, specifically within the Data Governance function. This role is critical to supporting and scaling our metadata management capabilities using Collibra within an Azure environment.
You will be part of a growing team responsible for enabling robust data governance practices, frameworks, and tools across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will be someone who can hit the ground running with a solid understanding of Collibra principles and implementation in cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a key contributor in the implementation and maintenance of metadata management and data governance frameworks using Collibra.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and clients to gather requirements and deliver governance solutions.
- Support enterprise initiatives around data access, classification, and control using governance frameworks.
- Leverage Collibra in combination with Azure-native tools to support governance-related use cases.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure best practices are followed across data governance initiatives.
- Provide client-facing technical guidance as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of overall experience in data engineering or data management roles.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Collibra in a professional setting.
- Proven understanding of Collibra principles, architecture, and implementation.
- Strong experience in data governance as a domain, particularly around metadata management and data access policies.
- Cloud experience: Azure preferred, but AWS acceptable.
- Ability to work independently and contribute from day one.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within financial services or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with Unity Catalog, broader Azure stack, or other governance tools.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with business stakeholders and clients.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Prior experience with COTS products supporting data governance functions.
