Database Architect

Luna Data Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Architect to join a high?impact product team supporting enterprise Investments data initiatives. In this role, you will help build and evolve a trusted, integrated, and scalable information infrastructure that powers data?driven decision making across the Investments organization.

You’ll play a central part in shaping the Investments data strategy, sustaining and advancing the Investment Data Warehouse, optimizing Portfolio Management applications, and driving continuous improvement in data quality, reporting, and governance.

This role is ideal for someone with deep experience in Eagle PACE, strong SQL and ETL skills, and a passion for solving complex data challenges in a dynamic financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Integration

• Design, develop, and integrate Investment databases and data models.
• Build advanced SQL queries against base and aggregate tables.
• Design and deploy data pipelines to transform vendor data into Investment systems.
• Maintain data management standards ensuring proper schema design for performance and analytics.

Eagle PACE & Investment Systems Support

• Work hands-on with Eagle PACE warehouse components including scheduling, reporting, stewardship, schemas, and portals.
• Utilize Eagle v2017 modules: Portfolio Data Center, Message Center, Automation Center, Scheduler, Workflow Manager, Reference Data Center, Recon Center, etc.
• Execute and validate Eagle maintenance releases (pre- & post?data and software validations).
• Provide technical support to investment control systems including report/program creation and troubleshooting.

Operational Excellence

• Collaborate with business users, engineers, analysts, and architects in a fast-paced environment.
• Contribute to process improvement across data management, quality, reporting, and change-management activities.
• Document data dictionaries, data flows, mapping rules, and technical designs.
• Assist users with test script creation, data load testing, and report validation.

Strategic Contribution

• Stay current with vendor data products and assist with tool selection.
• Support organizational adoption of investment platforms and reporting solutions.
• Enhance data integrity and infrastructure with every release.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years data analysis and data modeling/architecture experience
• 5+ years SQL development experience
• 5+ years ETL design and implementation experience for complex multi-source models
• 4+ years Eagle database environment experience, including schema architecture
• 4+ years working in Eagle PACE as a data integrator building data pipelines
• Proven experience with orchestration and automation of database processes
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution
  • Relevant experience may substitute year-for-year for education (30 semester hours per year).
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Background in investment accounting, general accounting, reconciliation, or procedure documentation
• Understanding of data marts, ETL concepts, and data warehousing principles
• Experience with:
  • Crystal Reports
  • .NET (VB or C#)
  • MS SQL Server, Oracle
  • MS Access/Excel
  • FIX, SWIFT, XML
  • IWS/Eagle ML
• Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Experience implementing Eagle STAR/PACE software upgrades
• Comfort working in Agile environments and with DevOps/DataOps practices (CI/CD)
