Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Robot Programmer / Robotics Automation Engineer to design, develop, program, and commission industrial robotic systems for advanced manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with robot programming, system integration, troubleshooting, and production support across automotive, electronics, or industrial automation domains. This role requires deep expertise in robotic brands, safety standards, and process optimization to ensure high-performance, reliable, and scalable automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, program, and optimize industrial robot applications for welding, material handling, assembly, palletizing, painting, and machine tending
- Program and debug robots using platforms such as FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa (Moto man), or Universal Robots
- Perform robot offline programming (OLP) using tools like Rob guide, Robot Studio, Process Simulate, Delmia, or RoboDK
- Integrate robots with PLC systems, vision systems, conveyors, sensors, and safety devices
- Support robot cell design, layout validation, cycle time optimization, and throughput improvement
- Conduct robot commissioning, validation, FAT/SAT, and production ramp-up support
- Troubleshoot robotic systems, minimize downtime, and implement corrective actions
- Implement and maintain robot safety standards (ISO 10218, RIA, ANSI, CE, OSHA)
- Collaborate with controls engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing teams, and clients
- Create and maintain technical documentation, robot programs, and operational manuals
- Provide training and technical support to maintenance and operations teams
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial robot programming
- Strong experience with at least one major robot brand:
- FANUC / ABB / KUKA / Yaskawa / Universal Robots
- Proficiency in robot teach pendant programming and offline programming
- Experience integrating robots with PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron)
- Solid understanding of industrial automation, electrical controls, and I/O systems
- Experience with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, FANUC Vision preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of robot safety systems, risk assessments, and interlocks
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced manufacturing environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive, EV, electronics, or high-volume manufacturing
- Exposure to Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, or digital factory concepts
- Knowledge of Ethernet/IP, ProfNet, Profibus, Device Net
- Experience supporting multi-robot cells and complex automation lines
- Bilingual skills (English & Spanish) preferred for Mexico region collaboration
