Mechanical Engineering Technician - Integration & Test (Onsite, Rotational Shifts) - 67065

- Shift: Rotational must be able to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts
Overview
Client is seeking an Engineering Technician Integration & Test (I&T) to support a large aerospace program. This role provides hands on support in mechanical and electromechanical assembly, fabrication, testing, modification, and integration of spacecraft hardware and associated support equipment. This position is fully onsite in Gilbert, AZ.
Key Responsibilities
Assembly & Fabrication
- Perform mechanical assembly, wire harnessing, and soldering.
- Apply epoxy bonding and polymeric materials used in spaceflight hardware.
- Utilize precision torque tools to install fasteners accurately.
Equipment & Process Management
- Maintain compliance with ESD, FOD, and 5S standards.
- Perform calibration and preventative maintenance on electronic equipment.
- Support discrepancy documentation and corrective actions.
- Use digital tools such as Solumina MES, TipQA, Windchill, and CREO View.
Integration & Test Support
- Lead the setup of test configurations.
- Set up, troubleshoot, and repair Electronic Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), including test racks and desktop systems.
- Assist with cable design and test configuration development.
- Run and execute test scripts using Maestro and AstroRT.
- Verify testing completion and ensure accurate documentation.
- Support critical and hazardous operations as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or technical training equivalent) with 2 4 years of related experience as a Mechanical or Manufacturing Technician, or equivalent.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Hands on experience with aerospace equipment, cable/harness builds, and soldering.
- Knowledge of electrical measurements (AC/DC, resistance), circuitry, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of cleanroom procedures and spacecraft handling.
- Ability to lift and position up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform repetitive-motion tasks such as sanding or scrubbing.
- Willingness to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
- Ability to wear and perform work in an N95 or higher respirator.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic test equipment such as:
- Experience with RF/electronic components (filters, couplers, splitters, amplifiers).
- Familiarity with cryogenic test systems, including:
- Adiabatic Demagnetization Refrigeration (ADR)
- Liquid helium immersion systems
