Job Overview: The Database Developer V will be responsible for developing and maintaining databases across the organization, ensuring high levels of data availability and performance. This role involves evaluating technology components, designing and deploying database structures, and conducting research to recommend database products and services. The ideal candidate will have expertise in mobile-first API development, cloud-native backend engineering, and ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain databases across the organization while ensuring high levels of data availability.
- Evaluate and advise on technology components such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities for database management systems and applications.
- Design and deploy data table structures, forms, reports, and queries.
- Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards.
- Apply third-party upgrades to existing databases.
- Identify inefficiencies in current databases and investigate solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve database access and performance issues.
- Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
- Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases.
- Ensure all database systems meet business and performance requirements.
- Produce ad-hoc queries and develop reports to support business needs.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
Qualifications: - Degree in computer science, engineering, management information systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in mobile-first API development, including secure and scalable REST/JSON or GraphQL APIs optimized for mobile consumption.
- Experience in cloud-native backend engineering, including developing and operating backend services in a cloud environment such as AWS.
- Strong knowledge of performance, security, and scalability, including low-latency responses, data protection, encryption, and scalability for growing mobile usage.
- Senior-level experience (greater than 8 years).

Pay Range: $70 - $75
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
