We re seeking an experienced Data Center Engineering Lead to join our client s team and take charge of their on-premises and colocation data center operations. In this role, you ll lead initiatives that enhance efficiency, scalability, and reliability across critical infrastructure components, including power, cooling, equipment lifecycle, and overall infrastructure management. What you will do:
- Lead the design, operation, and optimization of data center systems and environments
- Implement infrastructure management solutions to improve efficiency, cost control, and capacity planning
- Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues and ensure 24/7 system availability
- Oversee hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting across global facilities
- Maintain compliance with security, operational, and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, SOX, GDPR)
- Develop and maintain partnerships with vendors and stakeholders for equipment lifecycle management
- Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to technical and operational teams
What you will need to be successful:
- Bachelor s degree in IT, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- 5+ years of experience managing large-scale or enterprise-level data center operations
- Strong knowledge of data center design, hardware installation, and lifecycle management best practices
- Experience with fiber/copper cabling, cooling, and power management, and server configuration tools (e.g., Dell iDRAC, IBM HMC/ASMI)
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex technical issues
- Proven ability to lead global teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
