Job Title: Performance Test Engineer

Duration : 6 months plus

Location: Okemos, MI (OH, IL, WI, KY, IN)

• Senior-level role
• Ideal target: 7 10 years of overall relevant experience

Interview Process

• First round: Video interview for internal evaluation
• Final round: Face-to-Face (F2F) in client s location
• Candidates must be willing to attend the in-person final interview
• All travel and related expenses must be borne by the candidate
• Neither the client nor the vendor will provide reimbursement

Role Summary

• Lead and execute performance testing and performance engineering initiatives
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and optimal system behavior in cloud-native and Kubernetes-based environments
• Advocate performance engineering best practices across engineering teams

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and lead comprehensive performance testing strategies to validate application behavior under load, stress, and peak conditions, aligned with business requirements and project goals
• Create, configure, execute, optimize, and troubleshoot complex JMeter test scripts to simulate real-world workloads and usage patterns
• Use Dynatrace for continuous application performance monitoring, tracking response times, throughput, and resource utilization, and diagnosing issues in real time
• Integrate performance testing and monitoring into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, ensuring performance issues are identified early in the development lifecycle
• Perform capacity planning and scalability analysis, determining optimal infrastructure requirements and recommending scaling strategies
• Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot applications in Kubernetes environments, including autoscaling and resource optimization
• Use Bitbucket for version control of performance test scripts, configurations, and documentation
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and operations teams to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend tuning or architectural improvements
• Generate detailed performance test reports, dashboards, and actionable insights for engineering leadership and stakeholders
• Conduct root cause analysis of complex performance issues using Dynatrace and other diagnostic tools
• Drive a proactive performance engineering culture and continuous improvement initiatives
• Document test strategies, configurations, tuning recommendations, and lessons learned
• Participate in PI planning sessions, align performance goals, identify dependencies, and establish realistic performance targets

Required Skills / Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in application and system performance testing, monitoring, and evaluation
• 5+ years of hands-on application development experience
• Strong hands-on expertise with JMeter for building complex performance test scenarios
• Strong experience with Dynatrace or similar APM tools
• Proven ability to analyze performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including performance tuning, autoscaling, and resource optimization
• Experience integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
• Experience with Bitbucket or similar version control systems
• Advanced knowledge of Databases, SQL, and Linux
• Experience working in Agile / SAFe environments
• Strong communication skills, independent judgment, and complex problem-solving ability
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered
