Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid 3 days onsite/week)

Experience: 10+ years

Note: This role requires a strong infrastructure-first background (networking, cloud, systems). Candidates coming purely from development or AI backgrounds will not be a fit.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior / Lead Azure IoT Consultant with strong hands-on experience in Docker and containerized platforms to lead enterprise-scale IoT and cloud modernization initiatives. This role will drive solution design, delivery, and optimization of Azure-based IoT platforms with a focus on scalability, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available Azure IoT solutions
• Own cloud and IoT solution strategy across infrastructure, networking, security, and application integration layers
• Drive application modernization, re-architecture, and cloud migration initiatives
• Define enterprise cloud and IoT standards, reference designs, and best practices
• Lead technical design reviews and solution governance
• Develop and present solution blueprints, diagrams, and delivery roadmaps
• Perform solution assessments, trade-off analysis, and cost optimization (TCO, ROI)
• Lead compliance, security, and capacity planning initiatives
• Partner with business leaders to define non-functional requirements (NFRs)
• Provide technical leadership across estimation, delivery planning, and transformation programs
• Mentor senior engineers across cloud, infrastructure, and IoT domains

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of IT experience with a strong foundation in infrastructure, networking, and cloud engineering
• 6+ years of hands-on Azure experience in enterprise environments
• Strong expertise in:
  • Azure IaaS, PaaS, networking, security, and governance
  • Azure IoT Hub, Edge computing, device connectivity, and telemetry pipelines
  • Cloud migration and modernization strategies
  • CI/CD pipelines, DevOps automation, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Data integration and analytics platforms
• Experience with:
  • Architecture trade-off analysis
  • Cost-benefit and cloud economics
  • Migration planning and execution

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Azure Certifications (Azure Solutions Expert, Azure IoT Developer)
• Experience with enterprise delivery frameworks
• Domain experience in manufacturing, energy, utilities, or smart infrastructure
