Job Description - Level 1 Telecom/Data Center Technician (Helper)TEKsystems is seeking an entry-level Level 1 Technician to support cabling and infrastructure work inside a data center environment. This role is ideal for candidates with strong work ethic, reliability, and experience in physically demanding jobs-even if they have minimal telecom experience. The top priorities are trainability, attitude, and dependability.
Role OverviewTechnicians will assist with basic data center infrastructure tasks including pulling cable, assembling and drilling racks, labeling components, and porting connections. This is a hands-on job that requires consistent attendance, strong teamwork, and the ability to follow direction in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Pull, route, and organize low-voltage cabling within a data center
- Stack, mount, and drill racks and cabinets
- Label cables, ports, and equipment accurately
- Assist lead technicians with basic installation and cleanup
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Follow all site safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
- Arrive on time and demonstrate reliable attendance
Required Skills- Experience working in physically demanding environments (construction, labor, warehouse, etc.)
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Basic understanding of electrical or cabling concepts is helpful but not required
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Additional QualificationsTelecom experience is a plus, but
not required.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
