Lead Software Product Owner

Summary

You will serve as a Lead Software Product Owner for Extended Reality (XR) applications and systems in the Digital Transformation Division in the Fleet Readiness Department of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA.

The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Duties

Help

• You will serve as the technical expert for XR (Augmented, Virtual, Mixed Reality, etc.) software development and associated software applications.
• You will develop detailed plans, goals, and objectives for the long-range implementation and administration of the XR projects and develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of projects.
• You will be responsible for the overall management, administration, design and development of all assigned XR software system applications.
• You will lead and harmonize processes to define, identify, collect, and track appropriate product or business metrics, both quantitative and qualitative for new or existing XR products or services.
• You will collaborate with Branch Heads and Technical Project Managers to obtain and assist in balancing resources based upon XR product line requirements.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: one year of experience in in project management of software development, including virtual/augmented reality projects and agile processes.
