Job :Workday Technical Architect HCM (Phase I)
Location : Raleigh, NC, USA
The Workday Technical Architect will work closely with the HR Director, HR Managers, and Recruiters to support agency users of the Workday HCM Phase I solution, including Recruitment, Applicant Tracking, Onboarding, and Offboarding. This role focuses on system optimization, change management, training support, compliance assessment, and continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
Partner with HR Director, HR Managers, and Recruiters to support Workday HCM users
Support Workday Phase I modules:
Recruitment
Applicant Tracking
Onboarding
Offboarding
Develop and execute change management and skills development programs for HR and agency leadership
Provide insights and recommendations for agency training plans
Expand understanding of agency business processes, HR policies, and procedures
Assess compliance requirements and recommend process efficiencies
Develop communications and presentations for training and awareness sessions
Facilitate workshops and sessions to improve system adoption and user understanding
Gather user feedback, identify challenges, and provide actionable solutions
Evaluate enhancement requests and troubleshoot system issues
Identify process improvements and recommend procedural updates
Support deployment and communication of Workday process changes across the agency
Required Skills & Competencies
Deep HCM Knowledge:
Strong understanding of HR practices, compliance regulations, and industry best practices
Workday HCM Expertise:
Hands-on experience with Workday HCM SaaS platform
Technical Skills:
Understanding of Workday configuration, business processes, and functionality
Familiarity with training tools, documentation, and change management materials
Communication Skills:
Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Strong presentation and facilitation skills
Problem-Solving Skills:
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
Collaboration & Facilitation:
Experience working with cross-functional teams including HR leaders, business owners, and delivery teams
Education & Experience
Bachelor s degree in:
Business Administration
Human Resources
Computer Science
Or related field (from an accredited institution)
5+ years of Workday experience
10+ years of progressive HR experience, particularly in Talent Acquisition
Proven experience bridging people management with digital HR solutions
Public Sector experience preferred (can be required if needed)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in state or government environments
Strong understanding of organizational management and culture
Knowledge of role-based security and user access models in Workday
