The Events & Technology Support Administrator is responsible for delivering comprehensive support to the Events and Technology support staff, with a primary focus on campus information technology needs. This role ensures reliable front-line assistance for classroom technology, screening rooms, production spaces and day-to-day Information Technology Support (ITS) operations across the building. In addition, the position provides targeted support for campus events when technology or logistical coordination is required, including in-house programming, conferences and occasional external rentals. The Administrator will maintain a strong working knowledge of campus systems, spaces and resources, may provide tours for potential rental clients and will supervise student workers as needed to ensure smooth, well-supported operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES- Responsible for providing end user technical support to students, faculty and staff and work with other support staff to develop IT operational protocols that will meet service level expectations.
- Supports classroom technology needs, delivering Equipment Distribution Center (EDC) equipment, ensuring that classroom technology is functioning on a daily basis, and guiding professors through any troubleshooting to ensure classes run smoothly in regards to technology.
- Provides other IT administrative and networking support as needed for computer labs, editing suites, students in residence, sponsored events, student programming and other on campus student, faculty or staff events or programming.
- The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide information and service to a wide range of internal and external contacts; knowledge of College and departmental policies and procedures; the ability to establish, implement, and coordinate organizational systems and events processes, as well as the ability to prioritize, identify and resolve events technology problems.
- Responsible for regular classroom checks and support during day time classes, monitoring of printer lab stock, updating calendars to reflect upcoming events.
- Supports the IT Help Desk and responds to incoming tickets; organizes or collaborates on special events and other ad hoc special projects as assigned.
- Coordinate with the Associate Director of Student and Community Engagement on production planning for campus programs, ensuring technical needs are met without assuming oversight of student-centered events.
- Provide support for all aspects of on-campus filming and photoshoot requests from outside organizations, including studios, production companies, and private individuals; ensure compliance with College policies, insurance requirements, and risk management protocols
- Provide targeted support for campus events when technology or logistical coordination is required, including in-house programming, conferences and occasional external rentals.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed and appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS - Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform job.
- Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of related experience, or an equivalent of education plus experience in an IT Help Desk or other customer facing environment preferred.
- Previous help desk experience in a college or university setting preferred.
- Hardware: Knowledge of Apple computers and mobile devices (iPads/iPhones), IP telephones, printers, and other network-connected devices preferred.
- Experience with a range of audiovisual and production-level audio and video equipment preferred.
- Proven experience as an IT Technician or relevant position required.
- Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines required.
- Demonstrated competency and proficiency in Workday, Google Suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, Doc, Drive, Sheet), Microsoft Office Suite (specifically MS Word and Excel), and related computer software applications and electronic communications tools required.
