Our direct client is seeking a Windows/Unix systems Administrator for a long-term consulting engagement.
Active DoD Secret clearance is required at time of hire
Bachelor-s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Fully proficient understanding of various operating systems like Windows, Linux, and UNIX.
Intermediate knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other networking concepts.
Understanding of cybersecurity principles, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar.
Fully proficient knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies.
Ability to configure and manage servers and network devices.
Fully proficient problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation tasks.
Experience with system monitoring and management tools like Nagios, SolarWinds, or similar.
Fully proficient documentation skills to maintain system documentation, procedures, and policies.
