Role: Embedded Android UI Developer

Description:

We are seeking an experienced, highly competent, and self-driven Android UI Developer to join our team designing and developing user interfaces for our next-generation best-in-class security and IoT control panels. If working with wireless security devices, audio/video streaming, cellular/WiFi communication, Z-Wave, IoT devices, and protecting people and property sounds intriguing to you, come and help us build the intelligent smart home of the future. You must have an excellent technical skill set in Android development, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, performance optimization, and a relentless commitment to quality.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Rapidly and independently develop robust, high-performance application UI components from wireframes, prototypes, and product specifications.
• Actively participate in software architecture discussions, identifying technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and proposing practical solutions.
• Conduct meticulous and meaningful code reviews, enforcing clean code standards, architectural consistency, SOLID principles, and best practices.
• Integrate and validate new designs with a focus on early detection of integration issues.
• Develop verification and validation testing strategies to ensure smooth transition to production.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to diagnose, debug, and resolve product issues.
• Monitor, profile, and optimize application performance and resource usage.
• Provide clear documentation and diagrams for post-production support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years Android UI development experience.
• Minimum of 3 years developing Android applications using Kotlin.
• Minimum of 2 years of production experience with AndroidX Jetpack Compose.

Must Have & Desired Skills:

• Deep understanding of performance profiling and optimization strategies.
• Proven experience in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and unit tests.
• Proficiency in iterative refactoring methodologies.
• Expert-level proficiency in Android Studio tooling and debugging tools.
• Practical knowledge of design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Ability to solve problems related to build processes, continuous integration, and release configurations.
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git, GitHub, Bitbucket.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Jira, and Confluence.
• Efficient communication and documentation skills.
• Strong sense of ownership and urgency in delivering results.
• Experience in developing for embedded Android environments.
• Familiarity with Android framework internals.
• Knowledge of additional languages or technologies like C++, Python, JSON, YAML, XML.
