We are seeking a System Test Engineer (Space Systems) to join our Engineering team in El Segundo, CA. This role is responsible for performing hardware & software verification tests on space systems & subsystems. Additional duties include, but are not limited to configuration of test equipment, troubleshooting test anomalies, and conducting data analysis.
This position is for 2nd shift; however, variable shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) may be required to support program objectives. It may be required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Our team is currently hiring for the following experience level: Career Engineer Test & Evaluation.
Position Responsibilities:
Supports the development and verification of test methods
Performs detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan.
Develops solutions to calibration systems problems of limited scope and impact
Designs test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements
Analyzes, processes, and formats data to customer requirements
Reviews test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer
Prepares and publishes test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements
Presents test results internally
Archives data and reports
Works under general direction from test leads
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at El Segundo, California.
Ability to sit, stand for long periods of time throughout the duration of your entire shift. Ability to crouch and maneuver through tight production environments
Required Skills:
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
7+ years of experience working with specialized test equipment, instrumentation using electrical engineering test methodologies
7+ years of experience performing automated tests and troubleshooting electronics equipment, hardware, and software
Experience in software tools based in C#
Preferred Skills:
9+ years experience working in a lab and/or production environment
9+ years of experience with test instrumentation and/or test methods
Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree and typically 7 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with 3 years experience in an engineering classification.
