Job DescriptionYou will be the Director of Engineering - Vehicle Systems for the Vehicle Systems (VS) technical execution teams which is responsible for delivering integrated, high-performance aerospace solutions.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Director of Engineering - Vehicle Systems you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary engineering organization that drives product life-cycle excellence across three primary Aero sites.
Your responsibilities will include:- Direct the operations of Vehicle Systems technical execution teams (Propulsion, Utility Systems, VS Integration, Electrical Hardware Lab, Weapons Integration, D/PHM, and Specialty Engineering) across three Aero sites.
- Align personnel and resources with program execution needs to ensure timely delivery.
- Identify, track, and report quality metrics and VS milestone performance to achieve financial objectives.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize program performance through shared tools, content, and approaches.
- Manage subcontractors and partner companies to deliver Vehicle Systems products on budget, on schedule, and to program requirements.

Demonstrated technical and people leadership experience including leading dynamic multi-discipline engineering teams
Demonstrated Vehicle Systems experience
Demonstrated corrective action and problem-solving skills
Desired skills Program Management - Broad based experience: managing large performance efforts delivering cost, schedule and financial outcomes.
Experience working with US Services and International Customers
Cultural Catalyst - Demonstrated ability to manage culture of large organizations.
Experience with agile methodology and metrics
Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience engaging and presenting in executive level meetings

Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $180,000 - $287,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
