The RF Engineering Team is seeking an intern to help us take on new challenges as as we develop RF systems and components for spaceflight missions. As a member of our team, you will contribute to a team of multi-disciplinary staff who develop, integrate, test, launch, and operate complex RF systems and the electronic building blocks that enable them. You will be joining a hardworking team of engineers and scientists who provide our sponsors with world class performance, cost-effective and often first-of-their-kind RF systems operating reliably in extremely harsh space environments. As a member of our team...- Your primary responsibility will be to support a wide set of terrestrial and space-based communications, radio-navigation, radio-metric, and remote sensing applications with novel and computationally efficient digital signal processing algorithms and environmentally robust hardware
- You will work closely with experienced engineers to provide our sponsors with world class performance, cost-effective and often first-of-their-kind RF systems operating reliably in extremely harsh space environments.
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...- Are pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Have a passion for space-flight hardware, electronics design, digital signal processing, integration and test.
- Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
You will go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...- Have experience with electronics design, software or firmware development, or test automation.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
