Description: Network Engineer (Contingent Resource)About the RoleAs a Network Engineer, you will contribute to moderately complex network engineering initiatives that support large-scale enterprise infrastructure. You'll work collaboratively with engineering partners to analyze technical challenges, design solutions, and deliver reliable, secure, and scalable network services. This role requires hands-on engineering experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.
Responsibilities- Participate in and consult on moderately complex Network Engineering initiatives and deliverables.
- Analyze and resolve network engineering challenges by evaluating multiple variables and technical constraints.
- Design, implement, and support LAN, WAN, and data center network solutions in a large enterprise environment.
- Configure and maintain routing and switching platforms using modern technologies and best practices.
- Implement IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, Static), network security controls, ACLs, and DDoS mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders to meet engineering and delivery objectives.
- Contribute to technical documentation, design standards, and operational procedures.
- Support change management and compliance requirements, including coordination with auditors and regulatory teams.
- Drive issue resolution in high-volume, mission-critical environments while maintaining operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications- 4+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent practical experience demonstrated through work, consulting, military service, education, or training.
- 3+ years of experience designing and implementing LAN, WAN, and data center network solutions in large enterprise environments.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, Static), including ACL configuration and DDoS mitigation.
- 3+ years of experience configuring and supporting modern routing and switching platforms, including Cisco Nexus and/or Arista solutions.
Preferred Qualifications- CCNA, CCNP (Data Center), or CCIE (Data Center) certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience creating and maintaining technical design and engineering documentation.
- Experience working in Agile or product-based environments using tools such as Atlassian Jira.
- Familiarity with change control and IT service management processes (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Experience collaborating with regulatory and audit teams.
- Scripting or automation experience using Python, YAML, Ansible, and GitHub.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems, make quick decisions, and execute effectively in high-availability environments.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and Visio Professional for documentation and design.
