SAP ISU Billing Consultant

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced SAP IS-U Billing and Meter Reading Consultant to support and enhance utility billing operations in a regulated environment. The consultant will be responsible for end-to-end SAP IS-U Billing and Device Management processes, including rate configuration, meter reading integration, regulatory compliance changes, and ongoing production support. The role requires strong functional expertise in utilities billing, CRM integration, and third-party MDMS interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

SAP IS-U Billing

• Manage and support end-to-end billing processes, including meter reading, consumption calculation, rate determination, billing, and invoicing.
• Configure and support IS-U billing schemas, rate structures, and pricing components.
• Implement and support rate changes, fuel price adjustments, and ADID-related configurations.
• Perform impact analysis, testing, and validation for billing and pricing changes.
• Support regulatory-driven billing updates to ensure compliance with utility regulations.

Meter Reading & Device Management

• Support Device Management (DM) processes including equipment lifecycle, meter installation, replacement, and removal.
• Manage meter reading requests, consumption data processing, and validation.
• Support integration with third-party MDMS (Meter Data Management Systems).
• Troubleshoot meter reading and consumption issues impacting billing.

Integration & Support

• Work closely with SAP CRM and IS-U integration for customer, contract, and billing-related processes.
• Provide AMS / production support, including incident resolution, service requests, and enhancements.
• Collaborate with business, compliance, and technical teams to deliver stable and compliant solutions.

Testing & Documentation

• Participate in unit testing, integration testing, UAT, and regression testing.
• Prepare functional specifications, configuration documentation, and support knowledge transfer.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7–10 years of overall SAP experience with strong focus on SAP IS-U Billing and Meter Reading.
• Extensive hands-on experience in SAP IS-U Billing and Device Management.
• Strong understanding of rate changes, ADID, fuel price changes, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with meter reading processes and MDMS integration.
• Knowledge of end-to-end utility business processes and billing cycles.
• Proven experience in AMS / production support environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in regulated utility environments (Electric, Gas, or Water).
• Prior experience supporting large-scale IS-U implementations.
• Familiarity with SAP CRM integration scenarios in utilities.
